Make-up Revolution Review: Eyeshadow Palettes

Today I wanted to talk about two eyeshadow palettes I have been loving and using daily for the past 2 months.

The first is called 'Matte Forecast Edit 2017' and was part of the 12 days of Christmas storage chest which I reviewed here, back in December. I was really excited to start using this palette as I had been wanting to get my hands on some orange shades fo a very long time! I have used this palette non-stop for the past 2 months, especially the orange and red shades. As you can see from the swatches, all the colours are extremely pigmented, however I personally don't get much use out of the 4 top left shades and the 2 bottom left shades as they are all very similar, pale colours. I still love this palette though as the rest of the shades are so easy to combine to create lots of different looks.

The second palette is also from the 12 days of Christmas storage chest and is called 'Matte 18 Edit'. The first thing I want to say is that the name doesn't really seem appropriate as this palette actually includes 5 shimmer shades, which again are very pigmented as you can see in the swatches. Out of the two palettes this is the one I would reach for the most all year round, as the colours are all really neutral and there is a good mix of cool and warm tones. Throughout the past two months I have actually found myself combining shades from both palettes in order to create really warm, wintery looks.

As far as I am aware these palettes are not available to buy from Makeup Revolution direct or Superdrug which is a shame as they are really lovely palettes. However, if you want to get your hands on some palettes with similar colours I would recommend the Flawless 2 and the Flawless 2 Matte Palettes which can be purchased from the following places;

Let me know in the comments if you think there are any new palettes out that you think I might like.

Holiday Blues

Welcome back to my blog, although this post says that it was published at 12am on Sunday it was not. If you visited my blog at that time you would have been a blank post titled 'Outfits of the week: Holiday edition'. The reason this was blank is because I don't have any photos to complete the post. At the begining of the holiday I had my dad take outfit shots every morning, but after a few days I completly forgot.
I also had the whole month of posts planned out, I was going to show you what I had brought whilst in America because I did a lot of shopping, and I was also goign to post lots of the picture we had taken. However, now that I am back in my flat I have realised just how many photos I didn't take. I am really annoyed at myself for this because not only does it mean I can't do the posts I had planned to, but it also ruined my idea of making a big photo album of all the pictures.
I am hoping that I can get lots of picture of my dad's camera so I have something to look back on, but at the moment I just have a few pictures we purchased from rollercoaters.
Therefore, the posts over the next month will not be what I orginally had planned, however I will be sharing some holiday pictures with you when I get my hands on some.

What's in My Bag: Travel Edition

If you are reading this on the day that it was posted, it is the day I land back in the UK after a 3 week holiday in Florida. It seemed fitting to share what I have in my bag, especially for a long 9-hour flight.
This year I actually took two bags, I had my travel case and a handbag, as it meant there was more space for shopping! A lot of the items shown in the picture were actually in my handbag for the flight out there so I could get to them more easily, than in my case.

The things I had in my Handbag:

  • Mobile phone
  • Ipod with Headphones
  • Kindle
  • Purse
  • Make-up Bag
  • Colouring Book & Notebook.
Things I had in my Case:
  • Laptop
  • Advent Calendar (on the way out there only)
  • Pajamas
  • Chargers
I am actually writing this before I travel there so I am not 100% certain what I will be packing where, but I am sure that on the way back my case will be filled with goodies I have bought whilst out there.

If you want to see what I bought whilst in America, subscribe to email update in the top right hand corner and you will be notified whenever I post, so you won't miss out.

University Room Tour

As many of you know, I moved to university at the end of September which means I am now living alone. I thought I would share a sneak peak of my apartment. I have a studio flat, which means I have my own kitchen, bathroom and bedroom area.

When you first walk through the door you have my kitchen area on your left, and the bathroom on your right.

I was actually stood in the shower to take this picture, but I have an amazing, big shower which I am going to miss when I move into my new flat next year.

You then have my bed, which is a double with under bed storage, I also have a two seater sofa at the end of my bed too.

I then have my desk which is covered in huge amounts of stationary and textbooks! I also have a triple wardrobe built onto the side of the desk unit, which gives me plenty of space for all my clothes and make-up.

Finally, My favourite part of my room is this self where I keep all my folders of notes and some of my favourite pens! I just find it was visually pleasing.

I hope you liked getting a little sneak peak of my flat, let me know in the comments what else you would like to see in the future.

Happy New Year! New Years Resolutions 2017

Can you believe it is 2017 already?! It only feels like a few months ago that I was coming up with new years resolutions for 2016.

This year I am not making a long list of resolutions for the year, or even maing specfific ones. Instead I am going to set myself a few goals that I want to meet by the end of the year, or at least be actively working on throughout the year.

The first of these is that I want to get fitter and healthier. After having a period of 3 motnhs being able to do barely anything physical, I have two different sized legs and very different strengths in both, so I would like to work on getting them the sam esize again and also working on the rest of my body at the same time.

The second goal is to be more organised. I come across organised to a lot of people already, but I know that there are areas which I could definetly imporve on. For one, sticking to the deadlines I set for myself.

The third and final goal is to just enjoy the year and try to document as many memories as I can so I have them to look back on in many years to come.

The reason I picked three goals for the year rather than a long list of resolutions is because I think it will be easier to stick to and I won;t feel like i've failed at the end of the year if it didn't maage to stick to it for the entire year, as long as I know I have worked on it as much as I can throughout the year then I will be happy that I have reached my goal.

What are your new years resoultion / goals? I would love to know, so leave me a comment.
